Growing up I remember my paternal grandmother in Oakland, Ca., growing cabbage and leafy greens in a small area in the front of her house. My sister and I also spent summers with our maternal grandmother in Ames, Tx. who grew watermelons and other vegetables growing in her backyard. During my teen years, my mother had a garden, that she nurtured organically. I remember digging for earthworms for her to use in her garden and making a compost. Sadly the garden withered away during her battle with Ovarian Cancer and it died when she died. Also, while watching the movie Baby Boy, I remember the garden his mother grew and the table and chairs she put in the middle of it and I realized that is what I want. When I buy a house I'll have it.
In the mean time I want my family to enjoy the fresh herbs, vegetables and fruit I grew up enjoying. But I'm renting so I don't have the freedom to dig up the yard for a garden. I considered container gardening but never finished my research. I needed something that took me step by step all in one web site. Home Farming does just that!
Home Farming gives home farmers all the information needed to plan and grow herbs and vegetables. There are plans from indoor container gardening to large outdoor gardens. Home Farming also allows you to choose the amount of time you want to spend on your garden starting as little as 15 min 4 times a week. There's also a crop guide that teaches you about growing seasons, spacing and seed-to-harvest time for the herb and veggies you want to grow.
So if you're like me, you want to have a home farm but have no clue how to begin, then Home Farming will get you there. Happy farming!
